Machakos University has established linkages with Inades Formation-Kenya in effort to enhance collaborations with key stakeholders in the community. This was revealed during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions on 30th May 2018 presided over by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Lucy Irungu on behalf of Machakos University and Ms. Elizabeth Wanja for Inades Formation- Kenya.

Ms. Elizabeth Wanja, Managing Director Inades Formation-Kenya, Prof Lucy Irungu, Vice Chancellor Machakos University, Deputy Vice Chancellor (RIL) Prof. Peter Mwita and Mr. Hannington Owegi, Programme Manager (IF-K) signing the MOU

Exchange of the MOU between the two parties.

Speaking shortly before the signing of the MoU, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Research, Innovation and Linkages, Prof. Peter Mwita pointed out that the collaboration will cover areas of research, training and information. Other areas include dissemination as well as development of joint projects geared towards mutual benefits for both IF-K and MksU.

While referring to research findings, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Lucy Irungu mentioned that it has been shown that universities hardly meet with entrepreneurs and counterparts in the private sector, and therefore undermine their roles in informing the pace, form and direction of social economic advancement on the continent. This way, universities have been called upon, as a matter of urgency, to invest in structures that link students to industry. “The collaboration between Machakos University and Inades Formation- Kenya actualizes these desires.” Prof. Irungu said.
