Machakos University Strengthens Green Commitment with 1,500 Trees Planted at Machakos University Land, Mua Ward

Machakos University continues to champion environmental sustainability with the successful planting of 1,500 additional trees at its designated land parcel in Mua Ward, Machakos County. This tree planting exercise, took place on 1st April 2025, marks the University’s ongoing afforestation initiative aimed at enhancing green spaces and supporting upcoming developments on the new acquired land.

The event was led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joyce Agalo, reiterating the University’s dedication to environmental conservation and sustainable development. The County Government of Machakos was well represented, with the County Forest Conservator, Ms. Milcah Mutua, and her delegation joining hands in the initiative.

This initiative aligns with the University’s broader commitment to environmental stewardship and national tree-planting goals. With each phase, Machakos University continues to create a greener, more sustainable future while fostering partnerships with key stakeholders in conservation efforts.
