Machakos University To Launch A Medical Emergency Response Ambulance to Strengthen The University Health Care System

Machakos University is proud to announce the launch of a brand new fully equipped Ambulance with an advanced life support system, a significant initiative towards enhancing the emergency medical response and safeguarding the health care of the University community. This specialized ambulance is equipped with the latest in medical technology and is designed to respond efficiently to members of staff and student medical emergencies within the University and its environs, ensuring rapid access to life-saving care when needed.

The ambulance is fitted with an extensive range of emergency and advanced life-support equipment aimed at addressing a variety of medical emergencies. Some of the equipment features include:

• A Stretcher Base with Loading Ramp for safe and efficient patient evacuation.
• Collapsible/foldable Steel Stretcher for ease of evacuation.
• Oxygen Unit Set, Suction Machine, and Resuscitation tools to provide onsite and immediate resuscitation.
• Spine Board, Cervical Collar, and Head Immobilizer to stabilize patients with potential spinal injuries.
• Medical Communications and Navigation Systems to ensure seamless coordination during emergencies.
• Comprehensive First Aid Kit and Transfer Sheet for initial care and patient transfer needs.

The new ambulance will operate on a 24-hour basis and offer two key services:

• Basic Life Support Services (BLS): For the safe transfer of patients who do not require critical care.
• Advanced Critical Life Support Services (ACLS): For evacuating and transfering patients who need continuous critical care.
