MACHAKOS 3RD MEGA OPEN TOURNAMENT

Machakos University proudly participated in the 3rd Mega Open Tournament on the 6th and 7th of July, an event that showcased exceptional talent, sportsmanship and community spirit. The two-day tournament, held at Machakos Teacher’s College Ground, was a resounding success, drawing participants and spectators from across the country.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joyce Agalo, who served as the guest of honor and had the privilege of officially inaugurating the tournament. In her opening remarks, Prof. Agalo expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the tournament emphasized the importance of such events in fostering health and wellness, as well as identifying and nurturing talent among the youth. She highlighted the university’s commitment to promoting holistic development through sports and extracurricular activities.

The tournament featured a variety of sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, hand ball hockey, and athletics, with teams competing fiercely for top honors. The level of competition was outstanding, reflecting the hard work and dedication of the participants. Alumni students from Machakos University were also present, showcasing their skills and inspiring current students to strive for excellence both on and off the field.

One of the highlights of the event was the vibrant atmosphere, with supporters cheering on their favorite teams and enjoying the array of activities organized alongside the sports competitions.

As the event concluded, it was clear that the 3rd Mega Open Tournament had not only provided a platform for showcasing talent but had also strengthened the bonds within the Machakos University and the community. We look forward to participating in more of such events in the future, furthering our mission to promote excellence in all spheres of student life.
