Swearing-in and Dedication Ceremony of SAMU 2024 leaders

The Student Association of Machakos University (SAMU) witnessed the official swearing-in of its elected members on Thursday, March 7th 2024, marking the commencement of their pivotal leadership roles.

During the swearing-in ceremony, Machakos University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Joyce Agalo took the podium to commend all those who participated in the elections, extending her gratitude to the students who contested and acknowledging the diligent efforts of the election commission, chaired by the esteemed Dean of Students, Dr. Kamwaria. The Vice Chancellor reiterated the University’s commitment to partnering with the newly elected leaders to uphold its vision of becoming a world-class institution for academic advancement.

Administering the oath of office was the University Legal Officer, Ms. Mumbi Mwihurih, in the presence of the University Management Board, staff, and students. SAMU’s newly appointed Chairperson, Mr. Emmanuel Yogo, along with the entire team, pledged their unwavering dedication to serving the student body with integrity and a forward-looking vision for positive change.

As a highlight of the ceremony, esteemed guest Mr. Rene Kiamba delivered a keynote address, offering words of encouragement and inspiration to the newly inducted leaders.

In his address, the elected Chairperson expressed profound gratitude for the trust placed in the team. With the steadfast support and blessings of the Vice-Chancellor and University Management, SAMU stands assured to make a significant impact, fostering a year of growth, unity, and collective achievement at Machakos University. The University Management eagerly anticipates collaborating closely with the newly elected SAMU officials to advance the institution’s mission and elevate the student experience to new heights.

The SAMU officials sworn in comprise of seven (7) members of the Student Council (SC) and twelve (12) Congress positions.
