Machakos University hosts dialogue forum on Electoral Integrity

Machakos University proudly hosted the Youth Dialogue Forum organized by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in collaboration with the Centre for Multiparty Democracy – Kenya, today, 23rd February 2026.


The forum was graced by Commissioner Dr. Ann Nderitu, CBS (IEBC), alongside Prof. Joyce Agalo, the Vice Chancellor of Machakos University, whose leadership continues to position the University as a hub for civic engagement and youth empowerment. Other delegates present were Commissioner Dr. Alutalala Mukhwana (VEPC & SE Committee Chairperson), Moses Sunkuli, OGW – Ag. CEO (IEBC), and Frankline Mukwanja, Executive Director (CMD–Kenya), among other distinguished officials.

Prof. Joyce Agalo, welcomed attendees to the University, expressing gratitude in hosting the event and highlighting the importance of dialogue in societal progress invoking a divine mandate for reasoned discussions. The Vice Chancellor highlighted the significant involvement of the University’s student body, noting that the youth in attendance represent a substantial portion of the electorate in Machakos Constituency.
The dialogue created a dynamic platform for students, young leaders and stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions on electoral processes, civic responsibility, and the role of youth in shaping Kenya’s democratic future.
