Admission, Orientation & Matriculation 2022-2023

Machakos University received it’s 2022/2023 academic year first years for registration and admission of various Postgraduate, Undergraduate and TVET Diploma programmes in the University. The three-day exercise took place from Monday 5th September, 2022 up to Wednesday 7th September, 2022 at the University sports grounds.

During the 2022-2023 admission series, over 1,500 Students were admitted from various counties in Kenya to study various disciplines on offer at Machakos University.
Admission and registration of Students at the University entailed: Registering Student details to the University ERP system, Collection and Verification of hard copy documents by the Admissions office, Finance department, Schools, Health Center and Hostel allocation.
The University takes this opportunity to welcome all the new students to the University.
Freshers Orientation And Matriculation Session
The orientation for ‘Freshers’ admitted into the University began on Thursday 8th September, 2022 and culminated to the Administration of the Matriculation Oath and Vice-Chancellor’s Session on Friday 9th September, 2022.
Over One Thousand Five Hundred Freshmen were inducted and taken through the formal process of becoming eligible students of the University. They were kept abreast of the rules and regulations of the University, Scholarships, Research and innovation opportunities to tap to and above all the student life of Machakos University.

They were told to uphold discipline as it is the determinant of success in academia and any activity that is undertaken. The Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mwita, told them that the future relies on their expertise they have enrolled to learn. He told them that they have definately made the right choice towards shaping their careers by Joining Machakos University.



The Matriculation Oath was administered by Prof. Ezra Okemwa (Registrar in charge of Academic and Student Affairs); Present during the occasion were the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Joyce Agalo; the Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor in Charge of Administration, Finance and Planning Prof. Mugendi M’Rithaa; Prof. Stanley Makindi- the Ag, Registrar (Research, Innovation & Linkages); Dr. Alex Kamwaria – Dean of Students); Deans of Schools; Directors and Various Chairmen of Academic Departments among others.
