Machakos University Officially Receives Completed Cabro Paving Project

Machakos University today marked another significant milestone in its infrastructure development programme with the official handover of the newly completed Internal Road Networks (parking and landscaping) Project at the University Hotel and Conference Centre.

The ceremony was graced by the Chairman of the University Council, Dr. Peter Maangi Mitiambo, who officially commissioned the facility by cutting the ribbon in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Joyce J. Agalo, members of the University Management, representatives from the State Department for Public Works, the contractor (MASCO construction Ltd) and project implementation committee other key stakeholders. Speaking during the ceremony, Prof. Joyce J. Agalo applauded the dedication and teamwork demonstrated throughout the implementation of the project, noting that the improved parking facility will enhance accessibility, safety, and service delivery to the University community and guests.

The project encompassed excavation, fill, cabro parking, road marking, rehabilitation of storm water drains and comprehensive landscaping works. It has now entered the six-month Defects Liability Period, during which any defects identified will be addressed by the contractor. The University also announced plans to further enhance the facility through the future installation of a solar-powered parking roof and upgrading the internal roads within the University, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable infrastructure development.
