Advancing Innovation: Machakos University Engages Partners on Smart TVET Facility Development

Machakos University hosted representatives from M-Pesa Foundation and Pleng Limited on 19th March 2026 for a consultative meeting on the proposed construction of a state-of-the-art Smart TVET building at the University.

The proposed project seeks to significantly enhance the University’s infrastructure, enabling it to accommodate a growing student population while strengthening its capacity in technical and vocational education and training (TVET). Once completed, the modern facility will feature three floors comprising multiple lecture halls, administrative offices, and staff break rooms-thoughtfully designed to support both academic excellence and efficient operations.

The Smart TVET building is envisioned as a transformative addition that will provide an enabling environment for skills development, innovation, and industry-aligned training. Construction is projected to take approximately 12 months upon commencement.

This engagement underscores the University’s commitment to forging strategic partnerships that drive sustainable development and position it as a leader in practical, skills-based education.
