Machakos University Inspires Learners at St. Charles Lwanga Annual Career Day in Kitui

Machakos University participated in the St. Charles Lwanga Annual Career Day held in Kitui County on 16th May 2026. The event, themed “Beyond the Classroom: Exploring Careers in Real Life,” brought together over ten secondary schools to empower learners through career guidance and academic mentorship.

The event provided students with an opportunity to interact with higher learning institutions and gain valuable insights into career pathways under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). Speakers emphasized the importance of informed career choices, discipline, hard work, skills development, and positive attitudes in shaping successful futures.
Machakos University was represented by officers from the TVET Directorate, Admissions Office and Corporate Affairs & Public Relations Department, who engaged students through interactive sessions and one-on-one career guidance. Learners were introduced to the University’s wide range of academic programmes in Engineering, Technology, Pure and Applied Sciences, Agriculture, Business, and Humanities.

The University reaffirmed its commitment to “Co-creating Sustainable Futures” by nurturing innovation, research, and holistic education that equips graduates with skills for the dynamic job market.
