Powering Nurses Week: Machakos University Champions Healthcare Heroes

Machakos University has reaffirmed its commitment to community health through a corporate social responsibility initiative, donating 100 bottles of its branded purified water, MACHA DRiPS, to the National Nurses Association of Kenya (NNAK), Machakos Branch.
The donation, made on 4th May 2026 and authorized by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Joyce J. Agalo, is aimed at supporting the NNAK Roadshow scheduled for May 6-12. The event marks the commencement of Nurses Week, a global celebration recognizing the critical role nurses play in society.
The handover ceremony took place at the University Water Treatment Centre, where the donation was received by the NNAK Machakos Branch Treasurer, Ms. Joyce Mativo. The process was facilitated by the University Hotel Manager, Mr. William Orondo, and the Restaurant Manager, Ms. Zipporah Obed.
This initiative underscores Machakos University’s dedication to promoting community well-being and fostering strong partnerships with professional bodies that advance the nation’s healthcare agenda.
