SAMU Leaders Induction

SAMU Leaders Induction
VENUE: Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization Center -Katumani, Machakos
DATE: 7th โ€“ 8th April 2026

Newly elected student leaders often face intense pressure from competing and sometimes conflicting leadership demands. Balancing academic responsibilities with leadership roles can be a daunting challenge. In many cases, student leaders assume office without adequate orientation on essential aspects such as the chain of command, reporting procedures, office etiquette, decorum, and professional grooming.

Without proper preparation and support, some may adopt unhealthy coping mechanisms, including substance abuse and other harmful behaviors. This highlights the need for structured guidance and mentorship at the start of their leadership journey.

It is therefore critical to equip student leaders with a clear understanding of university standard operating procedures, governance structures, security protocols, and workplace expectations. Equally important is training in leadership, emotional intelligence, and mental health, enabling them to navigate challenges effectively, maintain balance, and make sound, independent decisions.
