Guiding Dreams, Shaping Futures: Machakos University Empowers Future Professionals at the 2026 Kajiado Career Expo

On Friday, 3 July 2026, Machakos University participated in the Second Edition of the Kajiado Career Expo held at Nkaimurunya Senior School in Ongata Rongai, in Kajiado County reaffirming the University’s commitment to guiding and inspiring the next generation of scholars and professionals.

The highly successful career expo attracted over 5,000 participants, bringing together a wide range of education stakeholders, including 18 secondary schools, 13 universities, 13 colleges, seven TVET institutions, three National Polytechnics, four government agencies- the Ministry of Education, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), and the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS)- as well as three hospitals, leading corporate organizations including Coca-Cola, KCB Bank, and Jamii Sacco, among many others.

A total of 4,818 participants registered for the event, including 360 Form Four candidates preparing to sit their 2026 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations. The expo provided these learners with a valuable platform to explore diverse career opportunities, interact with education and industry professionals, and receive informed guidance as they prepare to make critical academic and career choices.

Machakos University’s delegation comprised representatives from the Admissions Office and the Corporate Affairs and Public Relations Department. Throughout the day, the team engaged learners through one-on-one interactions, providing comprehensive information on the University’s market-driven academic programmes, admission requirements, subject combinations, and programme-specific cut-off points. The team also highlighted the University’s world-class learning environment, innovation ecosystem, vibrant student life, and career development opportunities.

The University’s exhibition stand attracted hundreds of enthusiastic, inquisitive, and ambitious learners eager to learn more about the academic opportunities available at Machakos University. The interactions enabled prospective students to make informed decisions about their future education while strengthening the University’s visibility among potential applicants.

Participation in the expo provided Machakos University with an excellent opportunity to connect with talented and promising students, strengthen relationships with key education stakeholders, and reaffirm its position as a leading institution committed to academic excellence, innovation, and student success.

The Third Edition of the Kajiado Career Expo is scheduled for June 2027, with Machakos University expected to participate once again as it continues to extend its outreach and inspire future generations across the country.
