The University today hosted a delegation from the State Department for Public Works led by the Works Secretary Quantity Surveyor N. M. Mutua, for high-level discussions on the way forward for the completion of the strategic facility.

The engagement focused on assessing the progress of the Tuition Block and exploring practical measures to facilitate its completion, as the University continues to expand and modernise its infrastructure to meet the needs of its growing student population.
Machakos University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joyce J. Agalo, led the delegation on an inspection tour of several major infrastructure projects currently transforming the University. The tour covered the multi-storey Tuition Block, Phase I–III of the perimeter wall project, cabro paving works, and the ongoing Machakos University Hotel and Conference Centre (MUHCC) gate.

The inspection provided an opportunity for the delegation to appreciate the progress made across the University’s development projects while identifying areas requiring attention to ensure their timely completion. The Tuition Block, in particular, remains a key component of the University’s infrastructure expansion programme, expected to significantly enhance the University’s capacity to provide modern and conducive learning and administrative spaces.

The engagement underscores Machakos University’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with government agencies and other stakeholders in delivering strategic infrastructure projects that support quality teaching, learning, research and service delivery.
As the University’s physical landscape continues to evolve, the ongoing projects reflect Machakos University’s vision of creating a modern, secure and accessible institution that provides an environment where excellence can thrive.
