Machakos University is conducting a four-day training for teaching staff across all Schools and the TVET Directorate, aimed at equipping them with the skills and knowledge required to effectively utilize the University’s new Learning Management System (LMS). Through the new LMS, the University is expanding opportunities for blended teaching and learning, fully online programmes, and short courses, providing greater flexibility and expanding access to education.

The training, running from Tuesday to Friday, is being facilitated by LoHo Learning in partnership with the Centre for Open, Distance and e-Learning (ODeL), Machakos University. The capacity-building programme is focused on strengthening teaching staff’s ability to integrate the LMS into their teaching and learning practices, further supporting the University’s commitment to technology-enabled and blended learning.

Prof. Peter K. Koech, Director, ODeL, Machakos University, highlights the importance of equipping teaching staff with the necessary digital skills to enhance the learning experience for students. The ongoing training is another step in Machakos University’s continued efforts to strengthen digital learning, enhance teaching and learning processes, and harness technology in advancing quality education.
