Machakos University Advances Plans for Next Phase of Infrastructure Development

Machakos University is stepping up its infrastructure transformation agenda with new development projects set to shape the next phase of the University’s growth. The University today hosted the State Department for Public Works for a consultative meeting to review designs and plans for projects lined up for implementation during the current financial year. Among the projects presented were the Phase IV perimeter wall, Phase III internal roads network—covering driveways, parking areas and pedestrian walkways and the proposed graduation pavilion.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the University Management and the Public Works team to review the proposed designs, exchange views and identify areas requiring amendments. The observations and recommendations arising from the discussions will inform the refinement of the designs, hence advancing the projects towards implementation.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Joyce J. Agalo commended the State Department for Public Works for its continued partnership and the quality of work delivered at the University, noting that the transformation is increasingly visible across the campus. The Vice Chancellor emphasized that the proposed developments will be guided by the University Master Plan and contribute to Machakos University’s ambition of becoming a world-class institution.

The meeting concluded with a tour of the proposed project sites, allowing the technical teams to assess the locations and requirements ahead of implementation. With each new project, Machakos University continues to build not just infrastructure, but the foundation for a modern, accessible and world-class institution.
